Moss Municipality has three municipal rates in 2026: 34 kr per hour in zone 1 (the centre and Mossehallen), 12 kr per hour in zone 2 (Myra, Fiske and Stengata 2), and 28 kr per hour at Peer Gynt health centre. At Myra, Fiske and Stengata 2, the day rate is 57 kr when parking for more than five hours. EVs pay the ordinary parking charge, but are exempt while charging at municipally designated charging bays. Three residential areas have free digital resident parking.

Resident parking applies in Skarmyra north, Thorneløkka and the eastern canal area. The permit is digital and linked to the vehicle registration number. Residents and businesses in the zone can obtain up to two permits for vehicles registered to them; the permit is valid for one year and must be renewed.

Free parking

On-street parking in Moss is normally free in the evening, at night and on Sundays and public holidays — but the charging hours are set by the municipality and shown on the sign, so always check the signs. Car parks and garages usually charge around the clock. The most reliable free options are park-and-ride sites and time-limited parking-disc spaces.

EV charging and parking

EVs pay the same parking charge as fossil-fuel cars. Parking is free while the EV is charging at municipally designated charging bays; follow the sign for any time limit.

Control sanction (contract parking)

Issued by the parking company on private and municipal regulated spaces:

660 kr — ordinary breach
330 kr — missing documentation on time-limited free parking
990 kr — parking in a space reserved for disabled permit holders
