Haugesund Parkering runs around 1,200–1,300 charged spaces of the town's roughly 2,000 municipal parking spaces, spread across the Bølgå and Centralen car parks, the Flotmyr lot by the stadium, outdoor lots and kerbside parking – in addition there are free short-stay spaces. In the car parks there is a charge around the clock, with a lower night rate. At municipal spaces in the centre it is free after 15:00 on weekdays and after 12:00 on Saturdays.

Resident parking
Haugesund has five residential zones: zone 01, Risøy, zone 03, zone 04 and zone 05. Residents, businesses and institutions with an address in the zone can apply digitally. Residents normally need to be registered in the zone; tenants and students can document their residence with a tenancy agreement. The permit is digital and linked to the registration number. It does not provide a reserved space or override signs and traffic rules. Motorhomes, caravans, trailers and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are not eligible.

Free parking
On-street parking in Haugesund is normally free in the evening, at night and on Sundays and public holidays — but the charging hours are set by the municipality and shown on the sign, so always check the signs. Car parks and garages usually charge around the clock. The most reliable free options are park-and-ride sites and time-limited parking-disc spaces.
- Free short-stay spaces in the centre
- Regular municipal kerbside spaces that are charged Mon–Sat are free after 17:00 on weekdays, after 15:00 on Saturdays and on Sundays, unless signs state otherwise.

EV charging and parking
Follow the signs for EV/charging terms at the municipal spaces (verify on build).
Electric and hydrogen cars now normally pay the ordinary charge on municipal parking. There is no national free-or-discount rule — each municipality decides for itself whether to grant an exemption (Parking Regulations § 34), and more and more charge the full price. Check locally.

Motorhome parking
Allowed: Haugesund has motorhome parking at Dokken by the Herring Museum and at Flotmyr by the stadium. Dokken has 15 motorhome bays and accommodates both motorhomes and caravans within marked bays. Spaces cannot be reserved in advance.

- Dokken, Hasselgata 31: 50 kr/hour or 300 kr per 24 hrs, max. three days without subscription. Low season 1 October–31 March: 500 kr/week or 2,500 kr/month. High season 1 April–30 September: 1,900 kr/week or 5,000 kr/month. Pay by card machine or EasyPark 5932/59321.
- Flotmyr by the stadium: 50 kr/hour, charges apply at all times and there is no daily rate. Pay by machine, camera parking or EasyPark 5919.
Dokken only has waste disposal and a city map, not electricity, water, toilets or a disposal station. A caravan's towing vehicle must be parked in a car bay and paid separately. Haraldshaugen Camping is recommended if you need more facilities.
