Free parking
On-street parking in Bodø is normally free in the evening, at night and on Sundays and public holidays — but the charging hours are set by the municipality and shown on the sign, so always check the signs. Car parks and garages usually charge around the clock. The most reliable free options are park-and-ride sites and time-limited parking-disc spaces.

EV charging and parking
The municipality has public charging bays in the centre: Torvgata between Sjøgata and Gågata (4 spaces), Kongens gate by Postgården (1), Plassmyra (6) and Kvartal 99 (20), plus one disabled charging bay in Sjøgata by the Stormen library. EVs pay the same parking charge as other vehicles, and you pay for the electricity in addition (rate zone 1). Among the car parks, Kvartal 99 (APCOA) and Torggarasjen (Onepark) have charging bays.
Electric and hydrogen cars now normally pay the ordinary charge on municipal parking. There is no national free-or-discount rule — each municipality decides for itself whether to grant an exemption (Parking Regulations § 34), and more and more charge the full price. Check locally.
